STRUT BUILDING SURVEYORS

Specialist Surveying Services

Surveyors who understand buildings, not simply reports.

Strut provides independent building surveying advice for clients who need to understand condition, defects, repair liabilities and technical risk.

Our work is particularly focused on building pathology, roofs and building envelopes, moisture-related defects, historic buildings, commercial property and complex refurbishment.

Where a defect is identified, our aim is to establish the likely cause, explain its significance and recommend a proportionate next step rather than simply record the visible symptom.

Where required, our involvement can continue into repair strategy, specification, tendering and project support.

Our services are structured around the questions property owners and purchasers actually need answered: What is wrong? Why has it happened? What risk does it create? What should happen next?

How do I know which surveying service I need?

Tell us about the property, the issue and what you need to establish. A whole-building survey may be appropriate for acquisition or general condition, while a specific defect survey may be better where the concern relates to one particular problem.

The property address, building type, approximate age, your objective, any known defects, available photographs or drawings, access constraints and required timescale will usually allow us to define the initial scope and fee.

Yes. We can inspect defective or incomplete work, record the observed condition, assess likely causes and provide recommendations for further investigation or remedial work. Where the matter is contentious or legal proceedings are anticipated, the required form of report should be agreed specifically.

Yes, where required. Depending upon the instruction, we can assist with repair scopes, specifications, tendering, contractor engagement, contract administration and periodic inspection.
